Commentaar en waardering voor Empire: Total War - Gold Edition

Just to buggy to merit the money (1.1.1)

The game is a great game ( I owned it on a windows machine and it worked fine most of the time), but is really buggy. I haven’t played a world domination campaign without it “quitting unexpectedly” or later on in the game causing great lag when the other factions are playing out their moves. In India, at some point I couldn’t fight battles anymore, battle map is just completely distorted and green. And many other bugs I am not even going to mention. In short: this game for mac is a big mess. I am not even gonna buy Rome with this crappy functionality. They ask a lot of money for a mac port, but do not seem to want to spend the time on doing it well. You would think a mac is a simple machine with little configuration possibilities, unlike windows but bugs galore. My set-up? A maxed out retina iMac, with 4ghz processor and 32gigs of RAM and a whopping 4GB of video ram. The problems obviously do not lie with my machine. And apple….it gets time that you take some responsability for what you let people sell on your store. Ridge testing obligations do not seem to apply here. A game should only be allowed to be sold if it actually WORKS! UPDATE JANUARY 2016. Now I am on El Capitan. The game quits unexpectedly about every four or five turns. I am in 1714 and I am already completely fed up. I contacted feral support, and they are willing to help, but I got this huge list of things I could try. I am sorry, but I work long hours, and when I want to play a game, I do not want to have to spend my precious time off on getting it to even start to work. That’s the whole reason I bought a Mac in the first place. It just works, or it doesn’t. This doesn’t. I deleted the game again and I am not gonna spend a penny on any other feral mac port.

Playable game but not stable and infrequent fixes (1.1.1)

It’s nice when these Total War games are recompiled for OSX but there is not much support afterwards. This game was never stable and often starts crashing once you are deeply into a campaign. I have it now for about 3 years and the stability problems have gotten worse with each new version of OSX.

Great game, but….. (1.1.1)

Just bought this game after years of playing TW Rome on my macbook pro. On my new Macbook Air 13” this game is not performing well. The graphics are much worse comparing to TW Rome, a much older game. It is great they ported this game and the game itself is running OK, but the graphics look like 2006.

GOOD GAME FERAL MAKE ROME TW 2 (1.0)

I like it but it is a very difficult game. I play Rome TW and Medival TW 2 but this one is just soooo difficult. Thats why its so fun, you need to 'explore' the game! I hope Rome TW 2 will be maked for mac to! FERAL INTERACTIVE make it for mac!!!!

Good one (1.0)

Geweldig spel op meerdere fronten. Goed spel om je geschiedenis en topografie weer eens mee op te frissen! De enorme veldslagen, met duizende soldaten, blijven episch. The road to indipendence is erg goed te doen.

Worst Total War Game (1.0)

Big fan of the total war series and played every game up to Rome Total War, Empire is by far the most boring and dull game in the series I ever had the displeasure of buying. Couldnt even play it for longer than a couple of hours. Do not buy this. On feral, I think they do good ports with the games (like rome total war), so I dont think this is related to it being a mac port.

Nobrainer (Just buy it!) (1.0)

It's a great port! Definitly worth buying! I played two campaigns the past days and did tens of battles which all went smooth without any problems. It also knows how to use the power of Macbooks Pro's so they don't get very hot near the zone where the CPU is located. (With Wineports this is usually the case) It just runs great on all-high-settings. The game itself is just great for hours of gameplay if you like to try and conquer the world :-)

Nice game (1.0)
