# 1Password 6.8: The Picnic Edition

It’s summertime for us here in the northern hemisphere and that means it’s time to grab a blanket, a basket full of goodies, and head out for a picnic! We packed a number of great treats into today’s update, so settle back and tuck in.

## TL;DR

• One-time passwords now copy themselves to the clipboard automatically whenever you fill an item that has a one-time password.
• The ability to create vaults has arrived for 1Password.com accounts!
• A brand new Account menu gives you quick access to some of the most important features of your 1Password.com account.

## No need to run back to the store for that forgotten item

We’ve all been there: you unload all the food, get the burgers cooked and ready to eat, and then you realize you’ve forgotten the ketchup. That’s what it’s always felt like for us having to go back to copy our one-time passwords after we've filled a username and password. Now when you fill an item into your browser 1Password will automatically copy its one-time password to the clipboard for easy pasting.

We’ve had this feature in beta for a few months and we hope you love it as much as we do!

## More containers for more organized goodies!

You can't keep your pickles and cheese in the same container. That's just gross - unless of course you like pickled cheese, then I won’t judge. Keeping all of your items in one vault can get almost as messy as pickled cheese. Now you can create new vaults for your 1Password account from within the app itself! The days of switching from the Mac app to the web app to create a new vault are over. Delicious, fresh, and totally convenient.

## The fresher the menu, the better the picnic

They say variety is the spice of life. After all, not everyone loves egg salad, and having your choice of sandwiches at a picnic is a wonderful thing. So, with our latest update, we have added a brand new Account menu for you, so you can quickly get to all sorts of Account features from within the 1Password for Mac app. Creating a new vault is a delicious treat indeed, but you can also save your Emergency Kit and even add your account to other devices! Bon appetit!

1Password 6.7 for Mac: The Renovation Edition

There comes a point in the lifespan of any app where it’s time to take a step back, admire all that’s been over the years, and take stock of the things that should be addressed before moving forward again. To take this metaphor in a different direction: before you can put that new addition on the house you need to shore up the foundation, reroute the wiring, and finally finish painting that room you’ve been putting off for too long now.

Today’s release of 1Password contains many of those types fixes and improvements; many that don’t even appear on this list because they were marked as [INTERNAL] during the development cycle. Nonetheless we have a healthy collection of improvements and fixes for you to peruse, as well as one very neat new feature you can see by holding down the Option key while clicking on the 1Password mini icon in the menu bar.

If you're looking to chat with us directly be sure to drop us a line at @1Password on Twitter or on Facebook at facebook.com/1Password. If you have questions or need support just pop on over to support.1password.com and we'll point you in the right direction.

## New

• You can now access the settings menu directly while option-clicking the 1Password mini icon in the menu bar. {OPM-4837}

## Improved

• Updated the wording in the account migrator window to reflect that we're copying items and not moving them outright. {OPM-4968}
• Improved the unlock time from the main app for those of you with a lot of vaults. {OPM-4966}
• Improved the unlock time for those of you with multiple accounts. {OPM-4965}
• Updated our translations with the latest from our incredible translators on Crowdin.com
• Removed the 5MB Document upload size limit for 1Password.com accounts. The new limit is now based on how much space you have left on your account. {OPI-3897, OPM-4510}
• Updated our browser code signature checks to support the latest Google Chrome updates.

## Fixed

• Repaired an issue where 1Password mini would go into Read-only mode until the main 1Password app was launched. {OPM-4984}
• Mended the problem that copying values from text fields while editing wouldn't actually copy aforementioned values. {OPM-4975}
• Resolved a matter where disabling standalone vaults wouldn't refresh the Preferences window. {OPM-4947}
• Corrected a bug that could cause the Auto Save window to remember typed values. {OPM-4986}
• Fixed an issue that could cause the labels for the section separators in the item list to be misaligned.
• 1Password now ensures that items you create are supported by the vault to which they're being added to. {OPM-4958}
• Clicking the unlock button no longer errantly enables the Touch ID button when the lid is closed. {OPM-4978}
• Dismissing the Touch ID prompt with the lid closed no longer enables the Touch ID button. {OPM-4979}
• 1Password now re-establishes focus on the Master Password field if you cancel Touch ID. {OPM-4760}
• If you switch categories while looking at search results it will now clear out the search results. {OPM-2636}
• Fixed issues with the wrong icon showing after setting a custom icon on an item. {OPM-4389} {OPM-4381}
• 1Password.com Account Login items were incorrectly changing the type of the Secret Key field in the web form details. No longer! {OPM-4954}

Commentaar en waardering voor 1Password - Password Manager and Secure Wallet

Money well spend (6.5.2)
25-11-2016 2:50:00 5/5 Door Sidney de Koning
1Password is expensive - yes. But this was the best investment I could make. It saves me time and frustration. Especially the later. No more looking through emails or searching Slack for passwords and usernames. Aside from passwords, I use for all my valuebla documents, vps server data, sshkeys, you name it. Just buy it. (Note to the developer(s): Importing password data from Firefox (or any browser) would be a welcome feature, this would make the transition to 1Password even smoother. For the rest - I really like 1Password!

After all these years still the best (6.5.1)
19-11-2016 6:45:00 5/5 Door tliet
I’ve been using 1Password for about 5 years now and it’s been consistently great. I use it across many iOS and macOS devices and sync all my passwords up using Dropbox. The browser integration works great and there are very few sites (Persgroep sites like volkskrant.nl) where the extension doesn’t work correctly (on iOS). Is there room for improvements? Sure, I’d like the animation for unlocking the vault a bit quicker on its feet. And I would like to be able to run reports on which passwords are older than x period. This is nitpicking however, as 1Password is one of the very few applications that you just integrate in your workflow without thinking too much about it. It stays out of the way, whilst fulfilling a very important role.

The one password manager you’ll ever need (6.5.1)
19-11-2016 6:11:00 5/5 Door Ripp74
1Password is the one password manager you’ll ever need. Also able to hold secure notes and eg. copies of your driver’s license, this application is the one place to store all youer sensitive data. Synching is done through iCloud or Dropbox so you will also be able to access the passwords/information you want on your mobile devices. Additional features like Watchtower are great to know when you should really change a password for a site due to eg. a security breach. You can now generate secure passwords (a new one for every site you want) and you won’t have to remember them because of the easy-to-use browser integration (even on your iPhone/iPad).

Still love it (6.3.5)
27-10-2016 13:49:00 5/5 Door ptratra

Love it! (6.3.5)

1Password really helped making my passwords and online accounts a lot safer. The experience is great, I especially love the browser integrations.

Still the best (6.3.2)
4-9-2016 10:58:00 5/5 Door Rembert-NL
I'm using 1Password for many years now, just on the MBP, iMac, iPhone and iPad. It just works, like many other password managers. Using iCloud also works well (just be sure iCloud is configured correctly and similarly on all devices). My wife uses DropBox to sync as she uses an older iPhone. The main advantages of iPassword are password-history: when I restore an old backup it's nice to find the older admin-passwords for instance - yes, I'm one of those people who do change their passwords occasionally. Other advantages are the ability to add extra fields in a record on the fly, either encrypted or not. Another nice feature is the support of multiple password vaults so I can move passwords I used for closed projects away - if at any moment I need to access them, I can find them, even on the road. I have in total about 2500 passwords stored in 1Password. Support is also good via their forums although I've had some heated discussions with them in the past. 1Password has some prebuilt layouts for records, like server and wireless-router. It's not possible to convert one to another even though they seem just to be templates. The only layout that can be converted are the records for generated passwords: these can be converted to a login only. Some work needs to be done here. Using 1Password with http authentication (ie. a modal dialog shows) is a mixed experience. While in Chrome it works perfectly - I can hit the 1Password applet and choose to fill in my password - it doesn't in Safari and FireFox. I have to access 1Password via the toolbar at the top, search for the site and copy the password. This is probably the browser's fault, not 1Password: whenever a modal dialog appears, the toolbars in the browser are disabled.

Geweldig, kan niet meer zonder (6.3.1)
